Reprise Perdition
I ran as fast as I could as far as I could
go and I did not stop,
Stepping over everything I slipped and I
fell right on my face,
Bleeding nose and humming head I carried forward
unable to resist,
There was something pushing me from behind like
a full force not letting me still,
And then I was on the edge of the cliff as
my sight lingered into the sky,
There was nothing below me and nothing
above me,
Just an empty sky and dull air until the
clouds started roaring my ears and sparkling in my eyes,
A drop landed on my cheeks slipping down to
enter into my mouth,
It was salty it tasted like a mixture of
water and the sweat over my face,
There was a heavy downpour as I stood there
letting it flow over me,
My tears were washed away as they were
still coming filling the rain into my lungs,
Spreading my arms I felt like a bird as I was
hit by the moaning sky feeling the depth of the hurt within,
It felt like my heart had suddenly vanished
I felt empty as a soul,
Right now I had nothing and there was
nothing beyond me,
One more step could as well be the last of
my life,
What was holding me to this side was the
heavy thread of shouting voices telling me they still were there for me,
I staggered as the weight of the souls
pushed me to the ground,
My hands hit the floor as I struggled to
control myself from slipping ahead,
The hunger of my chest hit hard as I howled
like the wolf under moonlight,
All the arrows stuck in my heart were
pulled forward as if I was trying to spit them out,
I screamed with full force echoing myself
louder than the thunderstorm that prevailed before me,
I was all alone, torn and weathered I lay
unable to do anything,
I was helpless like some lilies ready to be
crushed by an insolent dog,
Now I lay awake and strong and I rose
washing away my tears,
The rain has stopped and the sky is clear, the dawn is here,
I go back to the crying emotions as the
sunlight hits my head,
It lightens up my path as I tread on being
alive.
