Truth Called Love

Sleepless nights echoing heart crying for one last breathe

The song of the sparrows sweet mellowed into my ears

Serenity all around me the quiet peaceful night

But I feel nothing bound to me I fret as I do

Swinging motions of arms ready to start a fight

Tapping two and fro counting my steps and strides

What is it that has come over me this restlessness?

Two fireflies twinkle by my side sparkling mid-air

The breeze pushes through my hair like a hand to caress me

And I remember how you smiled how you had cried

The sparkle in your eye the joyful face you tried

I was lost in my world aloof from these emotions

Too worried for conquering the world too busy to see you choking

You shouted and screamed I lay there deep in my dream

Your dying sight had me in a fright unable to control what was gone

I held you in my arms to feel your warmth

The body was cold life had stolen you

As I saw you walking away in your new gait

It wasn’t who I loved it wasn’t for who I prayed

A new cloak hid your naked self what you could look at best

I am stranded here on the bridge forever replaying your death

The seasons come and go the trees and flowers grow and shed

I am naked here ready to bear what could be heard or said

A new dawn will come waiting for a new sun

A firefly comes and dances by the moonlight

My eyes wander although peaceful and calm

The restlessness has taken over again I want it all to end
